A trained Rubber and Latex Technologist, John Woon (Sung-Liang
Woon) began his professional education in 1968 in “Polymer Science and Technology”.
In 1970’s he continued his study and training in England and worked for one of
Europe’s biggest synthetic rubber manufacturers, ISR (International
Synthetic Rubber Company Ltd)

He returned and joined University of Malaya in 1976 to support the teaching of students while offering technical services to the various polymer industries in Malaysia. In 1981 he joined the world’s largest manufacturer of specialized Natural Rubber latex and latex compounds, Revertex Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

He was actively involved in the marketing of a wide range of synthetic resins, synthetic polymer emulsions and natural rubber latex compounds. He headed the Technical Department of the Natural Rubber Division of Revertex Malaysia until he retired in 2005. In the course of his duty, he had travelled widely to many countries offering technical services and problem solving solutions to customers.
He had been an active member of Plastics and Rubber Institute,
Malaysia (PRIM), ABE (UK), ICM (UK) and ASTM (International) Committee
D11.
With more than 40 years of experience, John Woon is now a Latex Consultant solving problems for clients across the globe. He welcomes all inquiries however big or small they might be. He also offers training courses for engineers, chemists, technologists and technicians engaged in the latex and latex products industries.
